Cian Yonet joined CCR as a 5th year student. Even though he was late joining the Leaving Cert Art class his teacher Mr. O’Donoghue worked with him to encourage and guide him in building up a portfolio of pieces. Their hard work paid off as Cian was recently accepted into 3 Art courses for September 2017. Cian’s portfolio received a 100% mark and he now has the choice between a course in NCAD, DIT or Dun Laoighaire. To quote Mr. O’ Donoghue, “He has shown single minded focus on his career choice while evolving his techniques in graphics and painting. One can say he has kept his feet on the ground while keeping his mind on higher things.”
We congratulate Cian and wish him every success in whichever course he chooses. Last Saturday he had his first exhibition on display in the Art room, his successful portfolio was exhibited for the prospective parents and students who attended our Open Day. Congratulations also to his teacher Mr. O’Donoghue and to Cian’s family.
