A Day in the life of a boarder at CCR

Irelands top feeder schools hosts Introductory Morning, Saturday, 27th February 2016

Cistercian College Roscrea, a seven day catholic boarding school for boys, invites fifth and sixth class pupils and their families to re-imagine boarding school life and experience what it’s like to be a boarder in one of Irelands leading secondary schools.

Listed as one of the top feeder schools to universities in Ireland for 2015, the College places a strong emphasis on academic performance and supervised study is available for students seven days a week. Equally, sport is a major element of the school day and Cistercian College is the proud current title holder of the Leinster Rugby Schools Senior Cup and were also crowned All Ireland Hurling Champions in 2015. Both title cups will be on display on the day where pupils can get the chance to hold the silverware.

Visitors to the introductory morning will experience a full guided tour of the grounds and facilities to include interactive classrooms and state of the art sports areas for both indoor and outdoor activities. The tour will also take in living and downtime areas of the college to include music rooms and vibrant common room areas.

Cistercian College Roscrea has a strong agricultural tradition, adjoining as it does the 350 hectare Mount St Joseph Abbey farm with many of its students both past and present hailing from farming backgrounds.

Students and teachers will be on hand to discuss their experiences of life at the College, the schools recent sporting and academic successes and to talk through what it means to be a boarder in 2016 and the opportunities on offer at Cistercian College.
