Congratulations to Transition Year student Manus Heenan who yesterday was awarded “National Student Entrepreneur 2018” after he won 1st place in the Senior category of the competition, in addition to being the overall winner he was awarded the prize for most creative use of social media. His project “Abbey Bread” was based on the original recipe used by the Cistercian Monks of Mt. St. Joseph Abbey who baked this bread for over 100 years.
23,600 students from 480 Irish secondary schools take part in Student Enterprise Programme through the Local Enterprise Offices every year, bringing the world of business into the classroom.
The Student Enterprise Programme is facilitated in Cistercian College by the Offaly Local Enterprise Office who provided a facilitator to the College for 3 workshops.
