Each year UCD present Entrance Scholar Awards to first year students in recognition of their academic achievements in the Leaving Certificate. This year, three of the class of 2015 – Tim Foley, Ciarna Guinan and Joe Kavanagh were all honoured at ceremonies last week at O’Reilly Hall in UCD. Tim Foley was the captain of the victorious SCT rugby team from last year and both Ciaran and Joseph were on the senior hurling team that also added to the trophy cabinet, winning the All Ireland Final. The College received a commemorative plaque at the ceremony, in recognition of the students’ academic achievements during their time at CCR.
