TY Latest News

The 2017-2018 TY Programme official came to an end on Thursday May 23rd with a graduation mass and presentation of certificates.  We celebrated after a very successful year with students taking part in a multitude of events and activities, many discovering talents that they didn’t know they had.  One of the highlights of this year was Manus Heenan winning the Senior Award at the National Student Enterprise Awards in Croke Park in early May.

Gáisce Hike

Early on Monday morning the headed off to the Burren in Co. Clare to begin their Gáisce hike. After arriving in the Burren they got ready for the day ahead which began with a 9km walk in the morning and a further 7km in the afternoon. The first team of students then had the task of preparing, cooking and serving dinner which was accomplished with mixed success. This was followed by another team, their job was to wash up and clean, an unenviable task.

The following morning began with a new team of students, cooking breakfast, followed by the last group who were on clean up duty.

This was followed by 7km walk on Turlough Hill.

Well done to all who completed Gáisce.
